Take time, stop, and glance
at your true self
in the mirror of your soul.
See how narrow or wide is the gulf;
judge how far or near is the precipice,
and reckon how high you must abseil
if fallen over.
The ‘me’ and the ‘I’ difference
needs recognising;
both regnal beings
and mere subjects,
leaders and followers
need to be checking
where they are at with themselves
and with others.
No ideas, no tenets- of potentates
or even of plebeians, can quite evolve
without reflectively
and closely looking , so as to move
more surefootedly and wisely-
for a more hopeful finality.
