APEBS – Open letter to the Prime Minister –  » Please ensure that there is free Education for all specialized Schools run by NGOs »

We would be pleased if you could revive the NCRD, the National Council for the rehabilitation of Disabled persons, where NGO members used to meet to discuss about the well being of persons with disabilities.
Prevention is better than Cure
We should educate young people and couples as to how to avoid getting children with disabilities.
Please ensure that there is Free education for all specialized schools run by NGOs and registered with the SEN Authority. There should be no discrimination, and parents should stop paying fees. We should give dignity to persons with disabilities, and treat them as human beings.
The SEN Authority finally came up with a Remuneration Order for Specialized Schools, but with anomalies which created frustration among the staff
The policy of the SEN Authority should be reviewed regarding staff who have worked for many years, and take into consideration their years of service.as NGO s will not be able to pay In the past, we used to get CSR funds from Businesses, but things changed as firms were compelled to give 75 % to the NSIF, and we never got the total amount of money we requested for our projects. It is to be noted that a lot of NGOs registered with the NSIF after 2014
I would suggest the creation of a Ministry of Education in the real sense of the word to educate people in all fields.
We have had a Ministry of Instruction where children were taught how to pass exams, but where no education, respect for elders, moral values were taught…
