Shatter me is a novel about a girl named Juliette, who has the power of killing anyone with her touch. She’s been locked up in an asylum for exactly 264 days. It was just her in a cell, all alone, when suddenly a guard announced that she was to get a new cellmate who happened to be a boy. It was a coincidence that she went to school with him when she was younger. Little did she know that he was an undercover for the Chief Commander and Regent of Sector 45, Aaron Warner.

The reading order containing the novellas are Shatter Me, Destroy Me, Unravel Me, Fracture Me, Ignite Me, Restore Me, Shadow Me, Defy Me, Reveal Me, Imagine Me and Believe Me.
The first book (Shatter Me) is from Juliette’s perspective, whereas Destroy Me (the first novella) is from that of Aaron. The reason I picked out this specific book is because there is a different type of genre in it. Its dystopian, scientific and fantasy fiction, all in one, which makes it rather special for Young Adults. There is also a bit of romance between Juliette and her cellmate.
When reading this book, I felt like I was escaping reality for a while and dived into the Shatter Me world. So far, I have only read the first book of the series and just starting the first novella (Destroy Me). There is no better escapism than reading, and I love the fact that I am only at the start of what looks to be a promising one.
